The AR-style rifle and carbine system has been around for over 40 years and shows little sign of slowing down. As is common with a firearms format that attains some age, modifications are made to make a gun more accurate, more easily fired accurately, better able to hit farther out or to be appropriate to confined space confrontations when that becomes necessary.
I put together a “dressed-up AR” and began sifting through lots of stuff. Frankly, I had to sharpen perspective. There’s just too much out there and our space is short. I began with sights, so we’ll explore a few of those, but I realized I’d left back-up iron sights (BUIS) out of the equation. I added a few gun lights, but there are many more out there.
