TK: What are your thoughts on all the anti-gun rhetoric lately?
Look at the way crime has gone down in a state like Arizona with its “right-to-carry” laws. The bad guys are afraid you just might be packing, and they can’t risk a hold-up.
TK: A stinging example of that comes from Australia, where internet reports from a police officer (unverified) claim that since a new gun-control law was enacted twelve months ago, armed robberies over all of Australia are up 44 percent. In the state of Victoria alone, homicides are said to be up 300 percent.
Do you think when the law says, “Turn your guns in,” that the criminals will comply? Hell no! The criminals become much bolder, because they know that nobody else has a gun. People can’t protect themselves. With their guns taken away, they’re at the mercy of the bad guys. How does the saying go—”When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns!”
TK: Are you concerned about the way our military budgets are taking hits right now?
Being strong and armed is why Americans have basically lived in peace for so many years. Our military has been so strong that our enemies are afraid of us. Now we have politicians who want to cut our military strength. They’re proposing budget cuts, whittling away here and there. It’s a slippery slope.
