My experience with the .45ACP Heckler & Koch USP is more than 10 years old. Since then, the world has changed a little. We’ve come to recognize that users have hands of varying sizes. Also, it has become obvious that the gun-mounted light is here to stay and we need to come closer to settling on a mounting system that will be compatible with more than one gun.
The capability of quickly and positively dumping an empty magazine without shifting our grip has risen in priority. Adding frills seen as necessary by a few are okay as long as they don’t interfere with running the gun. Making the gun a little more precise without interfering with reliability is also approved.
