Most of you’ve probably seen the SureFire knife ad that reads, “Our Customers Carry Grenades, We Build Our Edged Weapons Accordingly.” I have always found grenades to be very symbolic weapons. As any infantryman will tell you, the military doesn’t take issuing them lightly. Exceedingly dangerous little devices, most combat vets will have a story about an accidental explosion and the tragedy it caused.
When the armorer breaks out a case of grenades and tells you to “take all you can carry,” it always means the army considers where you are going to be far more dangerous than any risk of an accidental explosion. Needless to say, any knife going with those grenades better be up to the task.
