The initial introduction of the X-Tac pistol from Wilson Combat was met with great success, becoming one of their best-selling pistols. Maintaining the brand’s exceptional quality and attention to detail, it has just what is necessary in a combat pistol—a no-frills professional’s working gun with superb accuracy and the proven Wilson Combat reliability.

The Wilson Combat X-Tac Compact .45 ACP is a custom pistol in a popular carry size that combines a 4-inch barrel with a short-grip frame. It features the company’s innovative serration patterning.

The X-Tac enhanced grip treatment on the slide and frame provides a solid grip without the aggressiveness that some checkering provides. Even with a set of wet gloves, it really stays put. The Wilson Combat 1911 Battlesight, new at the time, has become one of the most sought after sighting systems on any pistol.

The 4-inch match-grade carbon-steel cone barrel provides excellent performance and complete reliability.

Given the popularity of the full-sized pistol, the call for a compact version was almost immediate. Bill Wilson is still pretty old school when the word “compact” is applied to a 1911 pistol. Like many others, Bill feels a 4-inch barrel is as short as you can go in a .45 ACP 1911 and maintain complete reliability. (While the Sentinel line has a slightly shorter barrel, they are chambered in 9mm and not .45 ACP.)

Wilson Combat’s Battlesight provides a deep U-notch for fast and accurate shooting—especially when combined with the fiber optic front sight.
