Safariland recently announced the release of new hearing protection that blocks damaging noise, yet doesn’t command a high price like electronics. The new Foam Impulse Hearing Protection still enables shooters to hear conversation and ambient noise as well.
Safariland Foam Impulse Hearing Protection
“I’m amazed how well they knock down noise levels,” stated Rob Leatham, professional competition shooter. “It’s a real game-changer in the fact that I can leave the Foam Impulse earbuds in my ears at all times to protect my hearing, but still hear what’s happening around me. You can’t do that with regular, passive earplugs or earmuffs!”
A big advantage, the foam earbuds retail for just $14.99. Yet they still reduce dangerous sound levels by up to 38dB, according to Safariland. The ear buds offer 13dB of continuous noise reduction. They also allow speech and audio hearing. The patent-pending Impulse sound filters block large sound waves. But they permit smaller speech and audio to pass into the ear.
The Foam Impulse ear buds remain washable. They also don’t interfere with eye protection, shouldering long guns or impede physical activity, according to Safariland.
