The women trained at Echo Company, Infantry Training Battalion, at Camp Geiger, N.C., which houses the School of Infantry East.
Though the Marine Corps said they want to send 300 women through the battalion by fall 2014, women won’t be assigned to infantry occupational specialties until at least 2015.
The 59-day training course includes a grueling series of hikes with Marines carrying a 90-pound combat load, as well as a Combat Fitness test and the Physical Fitness Test.
