The ride’s purpose is to honor fallen police officers from not just Ohio, but across the country.
Each year, Cops Ride offers a long, enjoyable and safe motorcycle ride as a fundraiser for various law enforcement-related charities. To date, Cops Ride has donated $50,000 to local, state and nationwide charities.
On June 29, 2014, the non-profit organization will host its sixth annual ride, this time benefitting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
According to the Morning Journal:
An estimated 700 motorcyclists stage at 9 a.m. on Lakeside Avenue. Each rider donates $20 per person to participate in the 40-mile, police-escorted processional ride that begins at 11 a.m. in downtown Cleveland.
The 50-mile police-escorted ride will proceed past several police departments and will around 12:45 p.m. The ride ends at the Lake Erie Harley-Davidson, located at 38401 Chester Road in Avon.
