Released Sex Offender Back Behind Bars
Rudy William Grajeda Magdaleno received his release on April 13. He served 71 days of a 180-day minimum sentence, with convictions for robbery, narcotics possession, criminal threats and child annoyance, according to abc7news.com. However, it didn’t take long for the convicted sex offender to end up back behind bars. Magdaleno allegedly exposed himself to staff members at a parole resource center April 17. He also allegedly failed to charge a GPS monitor, stopping police from tracking him.
“I find it extremely troubling that this high risk offender was authorized for release, in spite of his significant documented criminal history,” Santa Anna Police Chief David Valentin told abc7news.com.
Magdaleno’s Previous Convictions
- Sexual assault on a mentally disabled person
- Breaking into a home while naked from the waist down and peeking into an 11-year-old girl’s room
- Entering a Santa Ana law office, sitting on the floor and beginning to masturbate while staring at women there
“These kinds of high-risk sex offenders are the most dangerous kind of criminal and the most likely to re-offend,” District Attorney Todd Spitzer told abc7news.com. “They are doing everything they can to avoid detection by the parole officers assigned to monitor them so they can potentially commit additional sex offenses. These are not the kind of people who should be getting a break.”
