Officials are determined to have a program that lets people submit tips through their cellphones—enter the Cheyenne Police Department App.
“This way they’re not having to remember phone numbers. They just click on their app,” Cheyenne Police spokesman Dan Long said.
Available through the Apple App Store or Google Play under “Cheyenne Police Department,” the app has been up and running for a couple months.
It has several features, such as a sex offender list, news releases and wanted person lists. It also lets people submit information about a tip, including pictures.
“In just the short time it has been running, we’ve already gotten a few tips,” Long said.
