As the press release notes, the U.S. Army partnered with GD in 2012 to launch the Stryker DVH-exchange pilot program, which showed that flat-bottom Strykers could be cheaply converted into the DVH design. The pilot program ended in April 2013, with 52 Strykers delivered as a result of work from GD and the Anniston Army Depot.
Most of the work will be done at the Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, Ala., by government employees and workers from General Dynamics. In addition to work in Anniston, GD locations in Lima, Ohio and Scranton, Penn. will also be used. The first Stryker Double-V Hull vehicles from the contract are expected to be delivered by March 2016.
