Ammunition magazine manufacturer Magpul Industries has confirmed it will leave the state of Colorado due to new gun law restrictions. The Erie, Colo.-based company is packing up and moving its corporate headquarters to a yet-to-be determined site in Texas, with the majority of its jobs going to Wyoming, where manufacturing and distribution will take place.
“Moving operations to states that support our culture of individual liberties and personal responsibility is important,” Magpul Chief Executive Richard Fitzpatrick said in a statement on Thursday.
The move is a response to new state laws banning ammo magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. The state laws also require universal background checks for gun buyers and require gun buyers to pay for their own background check.
“This relocation will also improve business operations and logistics as we utilize the strengths of Texas and Wyoming in our expansion,” Fitzpatrick said.
