Four arrests were made and a small amount of drugs seized, but no guns were found, in a weapons sweep of problem neighborhoods in Holyoke, Massachusetts by more than 30 city, state and federal officers.
The was considered a success by police despite the lack of weaponry seized because it sent a message that illegal activity will draw the law. The operation was prompted not by anything specific, such as a stash of weapons, but a desire to be proactive in dealing with so many illegal guns.
