The Steel Challenge drew the world’s best speed shooters from June 25-28. With his latest title, Michel has won more men’s World Speed Shooting Championships than any other competitor.
Michel shot all eight stages in a combined time of 81.23 seconds, almost a half-second ahead of the runner-up in a match decided by fractions of a second. He began the match by winning the Rimfire Open division with a time of 63.77 seconds.
Sig Sauer, a longtime sponsor of the Steel Challenge, praised Michel’s major accomplishment.
“All of us here at Sig Sauer are extremely proud to work with Max,” said Bud Fini, Sig Sauer’s Vice President of Marketing. “Five Steel Challenge titles is an amazing accomplishment, on par with winning five Super Bowl titles. We cannot think of anyone else who better represents our performance standards and commitment to quality than Max Michel Jr.”
