Michigan law enforcement is preparing for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. According to MI News 26, agencies in 26 different counties will hit the streets to combat drunk driving between now and April 7. St. Patrick’s Day is on Monday, March 17.
As MI News 26 points out, St. Patrick’s Day isn’t the only event which might cause a spike in drunk driving. The NCAA basketball tournament, as well as high school and college spring break, will also contribute. Therefore, police officers, sheriff deputies and Michigan State Police troopers from 144 different agencies will head out on extra patrols to arrest drunk drivers.
In Michigan, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher.
