As the Free Press points out, the deal makes perfect sense in Hawley, which is located midway between Detroit Lakes and Moorhead, where the outdoors and hunting is a prevalent lifestyle.
This isn’t the first time a car dealership has offered gun vouchers for vehicle purchases. According to the Free Press, in 2010 and 2011, dealerships in Missouri and Florida also offered gun vouchers to customers who purchased vehicles. Other businesses, such as a bank in Colorado, advertised firearms as an enticement to sell certificates of deposit in several outdoor magazines, the Free Press said.
The promotion in Hawley has generated widespread interest from the media, including television, newspapers, magazines, blogs and radio stations.
