Ancient Military Ruins Explored Using Modern Technology

Ancient military ruins found at a site close to the Funabaru burial mound in Japan have been reproduced using advanced technology. Scientists used X-ray CT fluoroscopy and computer technology for the creation of images that reproduce what the ancient military ruins, believed to date back to the late sixth century to seventh century, may have originally looked like.

The site was discovered this past Spring. More than 200 ancient artifacts, including various types of armor and armaments, a helmet to protect a horse’s head, other horse adornments, a number of lacquered bows and other items, have been found so far.
