Springfield Armory just dropped some serious coolness today. The company announced the release of threaded barrels for Hellcat 9mm and XD-M 4.5″ 9mm, 10mm and .45 ACP pistols. The drop-in units are hammer forged and should provide a solid build component or barrel upgrade for Springfield owners.

Hellcat Barrels
The Hellcat threaded barrel kit features a 3.8-inch hammer-forged threaded barrel with self-indexing compensator. It comes with an included thread protector as well. The barrel utilizes 1/2×28 threading, designed to work with any standard 3-inch Hellcat pistol in 9mm. It comes with a black Melonite finish.
The anodized compensator, made from 8082 aluminum, is anodized matte black. The comp reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil. The barrel twist rate is 1:10; overall weight comes in a 2.72 ounces, with the compensator weighing 0.7 ounces.
XD-M Barrels
The XD-M barrels also feature the black Melonite finish and thread protectors. The twist rate is 1:10 for 9mm and 1:16 for 10mm and .45 ACP. The 9mm barrel weighs 4.04 ounces, while the 10mm weighs 4.45 ounces. Weight for the .45 ACP barrel is 3.36 ounces. Barrels in 9mm feature 1/2×28 threading; 10mm and .45 ACP theading is .578×28.
“With these new threaded barrels, shooters can further expand the capabilities of our most popular polymer-framed pistols,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “You can now run a Self Indexing Compensator or suppressor on your Hellcat, or fit your favorite XD-M with the suppressor of your choice.”
Hellcat drop-in threaded barrels retail for $199.99, while all XD-M barrels retail for $159.99. For even more info, please visit springfield-armory.com.
