The impact of Typhoon Haiyan, along with the subsequent recovery efforts, will burden our Philippine friends for years to come—a task we as Americans, who have lived through recent natural disasters like Hurricanes Hugo (1989), Andrew (1992), Katrina (2005) and Sandy (2012), can well understand. The typhoon has caused extensive destruction, rendering structures on dozens of islands destroyed or severely damaged, meanwhile causing devastating loss of life as well as the disruption of social infrastructure, food and basic utilities.
God bless the U.S. Marines of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade who were, as always, first ashore to bring shipments of water, power generators and other critical supplies to survivors on the eastern islands of the Philippine archipelago. We at Tactical-Life.com urge our readers and viewers to hold the brave Filipinos in your prayers and donate to the Red Cross and other relief agencies as they render aid.
