The excellent ergonomics of both Blackhawk’s Serpa retention mechanism and Pivot Guard combine to bring Level 3 security to a user-friendly duty system. The Serpa release disengages when the pistol is gripped normally, while the Pivot Guard slides forward with a push of the thumb and cannot prevent reholstering. Versions of the duty rig are available for guns with or without mounted weaponlights. The Serpa system has also been added to the Taser X-26 holster, bringing Level 2 security to what is becoming an increasingly common law enforcement tool.

The Phoenix, Ariz. holster giant has added several new models this year. Among them is the Halo, a straight-drop, strongside leather belt scabbard that accommodates light-equipped pistols.
The Paddle Lite mates the light weight and affordability of unmolded Premium Center Cut Steerhide with the convenience of Galco’s belt-lock, injection molded paddle. Retention is achieved with a thumb-break strap rather than close molding.
The M4X Autolock is Galco’s most recent addition to the Matrix series of polymer holsters. This paddle holster incorporates the company’s proprietary locking mechanism that is released by the operator’s thumb.
Additionally, Galco is commemorating its 40th anniversary with a special limited edition run of 40 serial-numbered Miami Classic II shoulder rigs in black or black cherry Tiger Shark with nickel-plated brass hardware.
iTAC Defense’s line of tactical accessories includes new polymer holsters combining multiple popular features in a single gun carrier. The company’s Retention Roto Paddle Holster with Integrated Magazine Pouch incorporates an ergonomic quick release retention lever, 360-degree adjustable cant and a magazine carrier integral to the leading edge of the holster. iTAC also offers the same unit but without the integral magazine carrier, as well as a version without the retention feature and a fixed 15-degree forward cant.
