Continuing its line expansion of a new and truly innovative modern automatic rifle in the M16/M4 tradition known as the B.E.A.R.™ (Brown Enhanced Automatic Rifle), Adcor Defense announces its B.E.A.R.™ GI series.
The original B.E.A.R.™ (Brown Enhanced Automatic Rifle) — designed by and named for Michael J. Brown, executive vice president of operations at Adcor Defense — has a revolutionary and patented free floating gas piston system (Patent #065111.00128) attached to the rail to allow for a free floating barrel; a key locked, highly rigid rail system; an ambidextrous, forward placed charging handle; and a polymer dust shield that protects the port from debris, dust, or sand. All components are made in the U.S.A.
The B.E.A.R.™ Gas Impingement offers all of the enhanced features of the B.E.A.R.™ gas piston rifle, with an easily removable gas tube that facilitates cleaning. It is available with or without the forward charging handle, in 16.1” and 18” barrel lengths
The B.E.A.R.™ Gas Impingement is also available in an Elite version, with an FN Manufacturing hammer forged, hard chrome-lined barrel, with M249 rifling profile; Magpul MOE™ MIL Spec rifle stock and ergonomic rifle grip. They are can be ordered optics ready or with Magpul sights.
The original B.E.A.R.™ gas piston rifle was tested by H.P. White Laboratory, a known leader in small arms and ammunition research and testing. The B.E.A.R.™ was found to have no failures or stoppages in a 6000 round endurance test and delivered a high degree of accuracy using Federal Match (69-grain) ammunition in the dispersion testing (.88” at 100 yards). Additionally, no malfunctions occurred during adverse environment testing, including immersion in water and sand.
