Armalite, the first name in AR-platform rifles, has unveiled several new rifles for 2015 that should interest today’s discerning shooters, law enforcement and civilian alike. The first new powerhouse is the 5.56mm NATO M-15 Piston, a piston-driven AR built in collaboration with Primary Weapons Systems (PWS), who builds the upper to Armalite’s specs. It features an OSS Banner muzzle brake with a 16-inch, 1-in-8-inch barrel. The M-15 Piston also features an ambidextrous charging handle and safety, Magpul furniture and a free-floating handguard with KeyMod slots for mounting accessories.

Another noteworthy addition to Armalite’s lineup is the M-15 VSR, or Versatile Sporting Rifle, which features a fixed stock that is adjustable for both length of pull and comb height. The barrel is a stainless steel, 18-inch, model with a 1-in-8-inch twist rate and 1/2×28 threading. The 15-inch, free-floating handguard surrounds the gas system, which includes an adjustable gas block.
Finally, Armalite has introduced its Defensive Sporting Rifle (DSR) series, with two M4-style carbines in 5.56mm NATO, one with an A2-style front post sight and one without, as well as a 7.62mm NATO rifle called the DSR 10. These rifles are designed to be extremely rugged and reliable without breaking the bank.
