Whether America’s fighting forces praised the guts of their government mules or the rugged versatility of jeeps like the Willys MA or Ford GP, they’ve long known the value of weapons carriers that reliably haul them and their gear into battle.
The latest workhorses to earn such respect are militarized ATVs, which deliver perhaps the best combination of size, speed, stability and strength ever seen in combat. Chief among these military marvels are four- and six-wheel ATVs built by many companies. Since Sept. 11, 2001, major players such as Polaris, have seen their ATV’s in extensive combat in the inhospitable terrain of Iraq and the nearly impassable mountains of Afghanistan.
