European government, industry and military experts are collectively reviewing Europe’s UAV sector by collaborating its military and civil security UAV communities, utilizing dual-use opportunities between the two defense sectors.  The collaborative efforts of this type of UAV system will enable the 27 EU countries to collect situational awareness around shared borders.  EU officials expect a blueprint for this system to emerge in the first have of 2009.
