Frankfurt Airport is to provide separate drive-in access for buses carrying U.S. military personnel, German officials said Tuesday, six days after two Airmen were killed and two wounded by a lone Islamist.
Boris Rhein, interior minister of the state of Hesse, said the secluded bus stop meant servicemen would no longer have to alight from and board buses on the forecourt in front of the terminal.
The suspect walked up to the Airmen at a bus stop and shot them on March 2 after they had arrived on a commercial flight from London.
