The Auto-Ordnance Old Glory 1911.

The stars and stripes have inspired a sense of pride and service in American patriots for almost 250 years. In the same way, the story of Capt. William Driver’s “Old Glory” flag has inspired many Americans during times of trial. Capturing the spirit and history of our stars and stripes is the new Old Glory 1911 from Auto-Ordnance. As a result, comes another in the Auto-Ordnance patriotic series of pistols, that further exemplifies its love for America.

Scrawled across the left side of the stainless-steel slide, the words, “Old Glory,” stand as bold as our flag. A flag that has waved gallantly over our nation through perilous fight. Likewise, on the obverse side are the immortal words of Johnny Cash, “I’m mighty proud of that ragged old flag.

The slide rides on a full-length recoil guide rod and houses the 5-inch match grade barrel, chambered in .45 ACP. Additionally, riding atop the slide are TruGlo front and rear night sights. A checkered slide stop lever also makes manipulation easy, even when wet or under duress. Forward and rear slide serrations make the slide equally easy to manipulate under stress.

The custom aluminum grip panels each feature “USA” and “1776,” superimposed over the stars and stripes. Machine checkered front strap and mainspring housing also surround the custom grip panels, providing a secure grip, as a result. Correspondingly, riding just above the mainspring housing is the iconic beavertail grip safety.

Made entirely in the United States, the stainless-steel pistol includes a distressed Burnt Bronze Cerakote. A user adjustable trigger, coupled with the skeletonized hammer, send rounds downrange from the included 7-round magazine. A flared ejection port additionally aids in reliable functionality. Finally, once your rounds are expended, an extended magazine release makes reloading the 1911 quick and easy.

Jodi DePorter, Director of Marketing for Kahr Firearms Group, explained the design saying, “The Auto-Ordnance patriotic series of custom guns is an important expression of our company’s love of America, its history, and its traditions. We want to convey the message that our company is owned by and staffed by patriots, and is very proud of that fact!”
