Ed Brown recently announced the newest addition to its Evolution Series of pistols, the EVO-E9. The E9 provides a smaller, thinner and lighter alternative to the previously-released Executive Commander.
The E9 follows the KC9, the first model in the Evolution series. The E9 features a two-tone finish along with 25 LPI checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing. The pistol also utilizes a fully machined and blended one-piece magwell. The one-piece design delivers a slim profile, making it suitable for carry, yet still providing functionality for quick mag changes, according to Ed Brown.
The E9 also features an external extractor, easy-to-change front sight and a smaller, ledge-style rear sight. Inside there is a bull barrel and flat wire recoil spring system. Meanwhile, the 4-inch slide is shorter and thinner for substantial weight reduction.
Noticeable is the unique 7-top custom slide cut, along with special front and rear serrations. The look combines both form and function. A recessed slide stop and exclusive Labyrinth grips complete the package.
Ed Brown hand builds the E9 from fully machined components. The pistol comes loaded with custom features and backed by a written lifetime warranty. Built in small, custom batches, the E9 employs parts built from the latest in machining equipment, according to Ed Brown. The resulting pistol comes at what Ed Brown describes as a 30-percent lower price point when compared to hand-crafted custom guns. Above all, the E9 retails for $2,295.
