The AR platform has been around for decades, but it’s undergone some significant changes over the years to help it run better and more accurately over time.

LWRC International is one company that has truly helped the AR evolve with its ultra-reliable gas piston operating system, which helps the company’s ARs run cooler and cleaner); Monoforge upper receivers that integrate a free-floating handguard with the upper as one piece, reducing any chances for play or point-of-impact shifts while increasing durability; and, more recently, the introduction of the Individual Carbine (IC) series, which features fully ambidextrous controls to suit right- and left-handed shooters.

Now the company has released its latest IC iteration, the IC-A5, which features all of LWRCI’s cutting-edge enhancements. In fact, the gun is so impressive that it’s already won several awards.

Available in 5.56mm NATO or 6.8 SPC, the IC-A5 features a spiral-fluted barrel and a two-position gas block for superior reliability in suppressed or unsupressed fire. The IC lower receiver has fully ambidextrous controls, including the safety, magazine release and bolt release, as well as a collapsible SOPMOD stock and a Magpul grip.
