If you’re a law enforcement officer, it’s important to stay aware of the latest gear that’s out there in the marketplace. But there’s a lot to choose from. That’s where we come in. Here’s a quick look at six pieces of law enforcement gear we’re liking so far this year.

S2Delta Modular Tactical Swing

S2Delta, a brand of Recon Tactical Engineering, was recently launched with the Modular Tactical Sling (MTS). This streamlined sling is comfortable and lightweight while being extremely versatile with respect to firearm platforms and missions. The MTS features a 2-inch-thick shoulder strap to comfortably spread the load on the operator’s shoulder without adding the weight or bulk of padding. However, the ends that interface with the weapon taper to 1-inch-thick sections. The two-point sling is easy to adjust and features modular attachment options. (s2delta.com)

Bravo Concealment BCA

The Bravo Concealment Adaptive (BCA) holster is a new outside-the-waistband (OWB) rig made of high-quality, lightweight and durable Kydex. The design carries your gun high and tight against your body, allowing for maximum concealability. It arrives set up for a 10-degree forward cant, but users can move the belt loops vertically to adjust the cant for different carry options. You can also change out the holster’s OWB belt loops with Bravo’s patent-pending tuckable IWB belt clips, turning your holster into an inside-the-waistband (IWB) rig. Ultimatum Bolt Action

Ultimatum Precision has unveiled its new Ultimatum bolt action, which is based on the Remington Model 700 footprint and features a removable, three-lug floating bolt head; an integrated, 0.31-inch recoil lug; and a smaller ejection port for increased strength. The entire assembly is machined from 4340 steel before being given hard nitride and Cerakote finishes. Available in short- and long-action configurations, the Ultimatum is compatible with AICS-style magazines and sports a 20-MOA Picatinny rail secured with two dowel pins and six #8-40 bolts. United Tactical Gear CoolShield

United Tactical Gear has launched its breakthrough CoolShield base layer, which can keep law enforcement officers cooler and safer under their ballistic armor. CoolShield improves on the comfort of a moisture-wicking T-shirt with elongated, vertical ribs, three in front and two in back. It is made to be worn under armor, in place of the usual T-shirt or turtleneck. CoolShield’s flexible, lightweight rib material creates spaces between vest and skin that promote ventilation, moisture transfer and temperature regulation. It makes wearing armor more comfortable and reduces chafing, perspiration and odor. (unitedtacticalgear.com; 888-690-1998)

Tyrant Designs MOD ForeGrips

Tyrant Designs’ new MOD ForeGrips—available in black, red, blue and grey—are CNC-machined from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum. Each grip weighs in at a lightweight 1.7 ounces and is fully M-LOK and KeyMod compatible. These new grips are designed to match the company’s MOD AR-15 pistol grips, which also have aluminum bodies as well as removable straps made of textured polymer for shooting comfort and enhanced control. Each purchase includes the hardware for mounting the foregrip on KeyMod/M-LOK handguards. (tyrantcnc.com; 847-447-0378)

Springfield Armory SAINT

Springfield’s first AR-15, the optics-ready Saint comes with an A2-style front sight and a flip-up rear sight. You’ll also notice Bravo Company Manufacturing (BCM) furniture for the handguard, stock and pistol grip. All of the fire control group components are polished and treated with nickel-boron, resulting in a trigger that operates smoothly with no detectable grit. The Saint includes a mid-length gas system paired with a heavy tungsten buffer designed to mitigate jerky recoil impulses and enable fast and accurate follow-up shots.
