From its hand-finished matte stock to its precision-accurized receiver, the ’66 screams quality. Not intended to be a replica, the ’66 sure bolsters the look of the original but with the accuracy expected from a custom sniper rifle.
The tried and tested, battle-proven Remington 700 action is blue printed and fully accurized.
The M40-66 features a stainless steel, match grade, bench-rest quality barrel with 1/10 twist that is meticulously hand lapped to exact tolerances. The M40 Rifle Company insisted on a maximum bore variation of .00001.
Also included on the rifle is a match-grade, single stage trigger is perfectly tuned to a 2.75 pound release (approximate), with no creep and no over travel.
The top grade American walnut stock has a hand rubbed oil finish with a glare-free dull luster, far superior to the original M40. The added 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator leaves relieves the discomfort associated with steel butt-plate of the 0riginal, and turns the ’66 into a soft shooting rifle.
The M40-66 is chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO Match.
