Kimber Advanced Tactical SRC Rifle SHOT Show 2015
 Comment(s)

You may know Kimber America because of its extremely high-quality, custom-grade 1911s or the ultra-popular Solo 9mm compact, but the company also creates some truly cutting-edge bolt-action rifles for hunting, self-defense and tactical duty. For 2015, Kimber has expanded its rifle lineup with the new Advanced Tactical SRC.

The SRC stands for “Supressor-Ready Compact,” and this .308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO bolt-action rifle is born for modern countersniping duties in urban areas. First, you’ll notice it’s adjustable aluminum chassis, which features a side-folding buttstock and has an anodized black finish. The stock’s comb is adjustable, and an integral rear monopod is included. The forend features a long top rail as well as KeyMod slots along the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions for mounting accessories. A Harris bipod adapter is also included.

The action itself sports a match-grade chamber and an adjustable trigger set from the factory for a pull between 3 to 3.5 pounds. The action has a Mauser-type claw extractor, a three-position Model 70-type safety and accepts detachable box magazines. The Advanced Tactical SRC comes with a five-round magazine. Finally, attached to the action is a 16-inch, stainless steel, fluted barrel with a 1-in-10-inch twist rate and a SureFire muzzle brake/suppressor adaptor.
