Known for high-quality Modern Sporting Rifles and pistols, Rock River Arms introduced its new line of AR rifles at this year’s SHOT Show, the Ascendant Series. RRA utilized its premium LAR-15 components and select components from top-end manufacturers for the ultimate out-of-the-box performance.
The Rock River Arms Ascendant All-Terrain Hunter (ATH) Series
Designed with the MSR hunter in mind, RRA designers specifically selected three chambers for the Ascendant program. Correspondingly, the three chamberings include .223 Wylde, .350 Legend, and .450 Bushmaster. Likewise, the use of RRA’s premium LAR-15 components along with other select high-end components gives the Ascendant Series best-in-caliber performance.
Designated as the Ascendant All-Terrain Hunter (ATH) Series, each ATH is built with features to maximize accuracy significantly. For example, each barrel is made of high-quality 416R stainless steel and features a media-blasted matte finish to reduce glare in the field. Likewise, they are cryogenically treated for maximum stability and accuracy.
Utilizing RRA’s lightweight handguard minimizes weight in the field and also integrates a full-length Picatinny top rail. As a result, there is ample room for the scope of your choice along with space for IR or thermal optics ahead of the scope.
Each Ascendant ATH rifle comes with one of two Vortex variable-power optics. Depending on the model of rifle, it will include either the Viper HS 4-16x44mm or the Strike Eagle 1-6x24mm. Each scope utilizes RRA’s Hi-Rise Cantilever scope mount with 30mm rings—a heavy mount with integrated rings and a one-piece clamping bar. Consequently, this ensures a solid mount to the Picatinny rail.
Rounds are sent downrange via a TriggerTech precision Diamond Single-Stage AR-15 cartridge trigger. This true zero-creep trigger features an extremely short overtravel, which practically eliminates overall shooter-induced shot disturbance, according to the company. Similarly, the trigger is adjustable from 1.5 – 4 pounds of pull.
Magpul’s new PRS Lite stock provides an overall custom fit with an adjustable length-of-pull and cheek riser height. Likewise, a Hogue rubber overmolded pistol grip provides enhanced ergonomics. Finally, the ambidextrous Radian Raptor charging handle provides optimal retention and operational control in the most challenging environments.
