Weatherby recently announced the release of two commemorative rifles marking the company’s move from California to Sheridan, Wyoming. Moreover, the Limited Edition Mark V Wyoming Commemorative rifles come in two versions, Gold and Silver. Above all, each command a premium price, at $10,000 and $6,500, respectively.

“We have had so many requests about the first guns stamped Sheridan, WY, we thought it only right that the first rifles off the line in Sheridan should be these incredible Mark V Commemorative Rifles,” said Adam Weatherby. “The State of Wyoming and the City of Sheridan have both done so much to help us with our move, we are delighted to ensure that this monumental effort is remembered by Weatherby and our users for years to come!”

Firstly, each rifle features the .300 Weatherby Magnum chambering. Additionally, the rifles wear a recognizable “Bucking Horse and Rider” engraving on the floor plate. Also, highly figured walnut stocks with raised-comb Monte Carlo design, right-side palm swell and custom-designed mountain scene compliment classic fine line checkering.

Above all, these are high-end rifles that bring an equally high-end price tag. The company says the Limited Edition Mark V rifles mark the “monumental amount of work that has been going into the move,” and that the design honors “Wyoming and that the state has done to assist with the move.” As such, Weatherby says a portion of the proceeds of each rifle will go back to the state of Wyoming.

Weatherby Limited Edition Mark V Gold

The Mark V Gold features exquisite wood, a hand-selected exhibition grade fancy French walnut, with a hand rubbed oil finish. The stock also sports a custom designed Wyoming scene, fine line checkering and ebony forend tip and grip cap. Also, a Pachmayr recoil pad helps tame the bit of .300 Weatherby Magnum.

With serial numbers beginning with WY000001+, the Mark V Gold is a collector piece. Moreover, inside the bolt is damascened by Weatherby. Meanwhile, the bolt knob is hand checkered. Also, the bolt receiver and sleeve are engraved with gold and silver accents. Additionally, the barrel bell and muzzle feature gold and silver barrel bands. Weatherby includes a custom leather case with green velvet interior.

Weatherby Limited Edition Mark V Silver

The Mark V Silver features a hand rubbed, oil finished AAA Grade French walnut stock with custom mountain scene and fine line checkering. The ebony forend tip and grip gap, bolt, bolt sleeve and receiver exhibit engravings and inlays like the Gold. Also like the gold, this rifle uses special serial numbers starting with WY000500+. The Mark V Silver retails for $6,500.

Each rifle utilizes Weatherby’s LXX trigger and delivers the Mark V’s fluted bolt body, integral recoil lug and 54-degree bolt lift.
