Advanced Armament Corp. SR5: The SR5 features a fast-attach system that enables users to securely install or remove the suppressor in less than three seconds on 5.56mm weapons, plus it minimizes point-of-impact shifts when attached and removed. Durable and corrosion resistant, the SR5 suppressor is made of fully welded Inconel 718. The weight is 17.5 ounces with an overall length of 6.7 inches and an outside diameter of 1.5 inches.
Dead Air Armament 7.62 Sandman-L: Designed for .30-caliber weapons, the 7.62 Sandman-L (the “L” stands for “Long”) offers a sound reduction of 31 decibels when firing standard 7.62mm NATO ammo. The QD system is quick to attach using just one hand. The Sandman-L suppressor’s baffles form a solid welded core with a detachable front cap featuring an integrated flash suppressor.
Delta P Design Brevis II: The stubby 5.56mm Brevis II suppressor offers reduced weight, sound and visual signature in a very short can that has a 3.7-inch overall length. This silencer is constructed of a single piece of proprietary hardened Inconel alloy and weighs 12.5 ounces. The lifespan is similar to that of the barrel, and the compact Brevis II is also rated for select-fire use.
Desert Tech DTSS: Designed to enhance accuracy and minimize impact shifts between suppressed and unsuppressed fire, the DTSS (Desert Tactical Sound Suppressor) offers consistent accuracy improvements of nearly 0.25 MOA when installed. The DTSS has a vertical impact shift of less than 2 MOA. Constructed of titanium and treated with a matte black Cerakote finish, the .30-caliber model weighs 1 pound and has an overall length of 7.8 inches.
GemTech Dagger: The Dagger is an all Titanium suppressor designed for semi-auto 18-inch 300WM precision rifles. It can be used on all lesser calibers and its extreme strength lends itself to use on 12-inch .308 SBRs. The Dagger offers a 27-decibel sound reduction in a package that is 8.8 inches in length, 1.5 inches in diameter and weighs 15.3 ounces.
Sig Sauer SRD556-QD: The SRD556-QD, designed for use with 5.56mm NATO weapons, is an Inconel 718 silencer using a fast-attach muzzle device to mount the silencer to the rifle. The 5.56mm fast-attach muzzle device system is available with 1/2×28 threads. The rear mount has wrench flats to torque the silencer to the barrel. There is a secondary retention latch that is depressed to remove the silencer from the fast-attach mount. The SRD556-QD comes with one 1/2x 28 Taper-Lok muzzle brake.
SureFire SOCOM556-RC Fast-Attach: The 5.56mm SOCOM556-RC Fast-Attach suppressor is used by U.S. Special Operations Command for M4 and MK18 carbines. The unit only adds about 4 inches to the weapon’s overall length, and at only 17 ounces, it is lightweight. The Fast-Attach system produces minimal, consistent point-of-impact shifts.
Thunder Beast 223P-2: The 223P-2 from Thunder Beast Arms Corp. (TBAC) is an efficient .223-caliber suppressor that offers good sound suppression in a lightweight package. At only 14.4 ounces, the 223P-2 is strong and durable thanks to its titanium and stainless steel construction. The 223P-2 is rated for semi-autos. MSRP: $925.
Wilson Combat Whisper: Designed to deliver silent force, the Whisper suppressor from Wilson Combat features a monocore baffle design and is completely machined from titanium. The result is a lightweight and quick-cooling suppressor. The dimensions of the Whisper are also extremely compact, adding only 4.5 inches to an AR’s overall length. The suppressor is designed to not affect barrel harmonics, shift zero or change the point of impact.
Yankee Hill Machine Wraith XL: Have a pistol-caliber AR that needs suppression? The Wraith XL is designed to work with with host carbines and submachine guns (SMGs) up to .45 ACP in fully automatic. Constructed of aluminum and stainless steel using a patented baffle design, the Wraith XL weighs 11 ounces and measures 8.5 inches in length.
When a round is fired through a sound suppressor, the gases escaping from the muzzle are stifled inside the suppressor and a series of baffle chambers. “Cans” designed specifically for ARs offer a number of different benefits, from a reduction in noise signature and less muzzle flash to less felt recoil, as well as an increase in bullet velocity.
