A lightweight 360-degree camera that captures real-time video is something most law enforcement officers would crave when dangerous situations.
The CENTR 360-degree digital camera, currently in the production stage, provides high-definition videos of every angle in a package that weighs just 9 ounces.
A Kickstarter campaign for the CENTR camera ended on May 30, earning $607,628 of its $900,000 goal.
CENTR uses Capture 360-degree video in real-time on a camera that fits in the palm of the user’s hand.
According to PoliceOne.com:
The donut-shaped camera stiches together video footage from four HD camera modules — all in real time. An option is to shoot with just one of the four cameras or create bigger files, such as 20MP 360-degree time lapses.
“From a forensic standpoint, the complete capture of what was going on around an officer during an incident will allow for a better understanding of the conditions an officer faced in any particular moment,” Banta told PoliceOne.com.
Banta added that he expects the CENTR camera to be available within the next year.
