Beretta recently announced the launch of a brand-new line of Sako cartridges imported into the U.S. The line includes six new cartridge families developed by Sako. The lines include TRG Precision, Powerhead Blade, Gamehead Pro, Gamehead, Speedhead, and Super Hammerhead.

Beretta Imports Sako Cartridges

Sako Cartridges won’t be new to those familiar with European hunting and markets. In production since 1928, modern Sako ammo utilizes the latest computer-aided R&D and CNC manufacturing methods, according to Beretta. The company performs a series of auto and manual inspections, ensuring quality and accuracy. Additionally, a proprietary heat treatment method makes the ammo highly reloadable and resistant to pressure, according to Beretta.

“The whole team at Sako is excited to introduce our range of ammunition into the US market,” said Phillip Jones, Rifle, Ammunition, and Premium Guns Product Manager. “With a diverse group of products including the TRG line of Precision Cartridges and the innovative Powerhead Blade lead free family, Sako Cartridges are made using world class components to give reliability, accuracy, and repeatability – no matter if you’re on the range or in the back country.”

The TRG Precision load features an open tip, boat tail match bullet. It comes designed specifically for competition and precision long-range shooting. Providing consistency and extreme accuracy, TRG Precision comes in .260 Rem., 6.5 CM, .308 Win and .338 Lapua Mag.

The lead-free Powerhead Blade meets the needs of demanding hunters. It features a Blade tip, 100-percent pure ductile copper and a five-stage terminal architecture. Designed to offer performance on various game, it comes in 6.5 CM, .300 Win. Mag., .30-06 Sprg., and .308 Win.

Designed for medium-sized game, the Gamehead Pro loads the Sierra GameChanger bullet with rapid expansion. It utilizes a polymer tip with an aerodynamic design for a high ballistic coefficient. Optimized jacket thickness helps provide excellent bullet expansion at extended distance. Built for high muzzle velocity, it comes in .270 Win., 6.5 PRC and 7mm Rem. Mag.

The Gamehead cartridge features a Sptizer-nosed, soft-point bullet. This load delivers accurate hits on smaller targets, including medium-sized game and varmints. It comes in .243 Win.

The Speedehad cartridge features a full metal jacket bullet design for target shooting. It brings accuracy, a high muzzle velocity and low recoil. Perfect for 3-gun, the Speedhead comes in .223 Rem.

Finally, the Super Hammerhead uses a bonded core, providing high weight retention and effective penetration. The Super Hammerhead comprises a heavy jacketed, non-fragmenting bullet for controlled expansion. Using a boat tail bullet for flatter trajectory, the Super Hammerhead comes in 6.5×55 SE, 6.5 CM, .308 Win., .270 Win, and .30-06 Sprg.
