This new load from Black Hills features a polymer-tipped, 77-grain Sierra MatchKing bullet with an impressive 0.420 ballistic coefficient. Starting out with a velocity of 2,750 fps and delivering 1,293 foot-pounds of energy (fpe) at the muzzle, it is still travelling at 1,699 fps at 500 yards, delivering 494 fpe to the target. Zeroed at 200 yards, it is slightly less than 50 inches low at 500 yards. The tipped bullet expands rapidly and fragments, making it a good load for tactical operations where overpenetration and collateral damage is a concern. Expect availability by June 2014.
