CorBon has released a .223 Remington Urban Defense load that has a 55-grain Barnes hollow point. This bullet has a soft lead core that fragments as it penetrates the target and when it strikes hard surfaces. Penetration in 10 percent ballistic gelatin is 10 inches. The load produces 2,900 fps at the muzzle and 1,027 foot-pounds of muzzle energy from a 16-inch barrel. Tactical operators who need low penetration for rifles and handguns chambered in .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO will find this load useful for limiting collateral damage. For more information, visit
