Several years ago, Richard McCann of McCann Industries made knives one-at-a-time that he called Puffins due to their distinctive blade shape. Over the years those knives have evolved into a healthy trio now CNC machined from O1 tool steel. The Puffins come in three different models: Magnum, Wave and Hunter.

The Puffin Magnum, at 16oz, is a very robust general-purpose field knife serving both outdoor enthusiast and soldiers alike. The “magnum” is combat proven and capable of handling the toughest of chores. The Puffin Wave is a sporty hybrid bringing the strength of the Magnum and the grace of an experienced fighter. The “Wave” features nearly perfect balance with just a slight forward weight bias. The “Hunter” was the first-gen design to meet the needs for a small field knife: Big enough for the task, yet comfortable to carry.

All “puffins” are CNC machined with a distinctive hemstitch pattern, drawn to 56 C and easy to sharpen. Each knife comes with removable sculpted grip scales that are held in tension via bushings in a full-length tang. A Blade Tech Industries Kydex sheath with a Tek-Loc belt clip are standard on the Magnum and Wave models. The Hunter model comes with a traditional leather sheath.
