Thus far, Magpul has introduced several new products in 2014, including the Armorer’s Wrench and BEV (Barrel Extension Vise) Block. Watch the video below to learn more about these two new accessories by Magpul.
The Magpul Armorer’s Wrench boasts a solid steel construction and a phosphate finish for grip-enhancement when engaging both stock and after-market barrel nuts. Designed to fit all standard-sized flash hiders, this wrench installs and removes rifle receiver extensions and carbine castle nuts. In addition, it comes with extended teeth when putting on ASAP (Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point) plates. This device also works with a 1/2″ torque wrench, and torque specifications are included on the wrench for easy reference. Lastly, the wrench has a bottle opener for when the end user needs an after-build refreshment. The Magpul Armorer’s Wrench is a “multi-function tool that does everything you need for building or accessorizing the AR platform,” said Magpul’s Duane Liptak. The manufacturer suggested retail price is $79.95.
The Magpul BEV Block is a compact vise block tool to be used when assembling AR barrel nuts, flash hiders and more. This device mounts in a vise and supports both billet and forged upper receivers. According to Magpul’s website, the BEV Block “engages barrel extension with solid steel lugs and full length support shank to prevent flexing.” Polymer is utilized for all other engagement surfaces so it doesn’t damage the anodized receiver. In addition, the BEV can be flipped over and used as a lower receiver vise block. The manufacturer suggested retail price for this product has not yet been released.
