Primary Arms has unveiled its new, Gen III 1-6x24SFP Griffin Mil optic, which combines the company’s 1-6×24 second focal plane scope body with a patent pending ACSS Griffin Mil reticle that works with any caliber.

The Gen III version of this scope is 18mm shorter than its Gen II big brother, giving it a total length of 10.04 inches. It’s also weighs 1.88 ounces less than the Gen II, tipping the scales at 15.52 ounces overall. Furthermore, it has an additional 10 MOA of internal adjustment compared to the Gen II.

The 1-6x24SFP is Primary Arms’ best-selling low power variable optic. It features red reticle illumination, a fast focus eyepiece, and finger-adjustable windage and elevation knobs. The reticle illumination is provided by a single CR2032 battery, which is included. A spare battery is also located inside the windage turret cap. A total of 11 settings take the reticle up to “daylight bright,” Primary Arms claims.

Meanwhile, the ACSS Griffin Mil reticle, which is calibrated to be true at 6x, features automatic ranging out to 600 yards; moving target leads; and 5×5 Mil matrix for precise shots. For calibers like 5.56mm NATO and .308 Win., the Griffin Mil can compensate for bullet drop from 100 to 600 yards without having to do math or manually adjust knobs. Because it’s integrated with the Mil system, this scope can be used with any caliber when paired with a ballistic calculator, the company says.

Boasting fully multicoated lenses for maximum light transmission, in addition to a 6063 aluminum body Type II hard anodized in matte black, the Gen III 1-6x24SFP Griffin Mil is available at a MSRP of $289.99.
