SilencerCo Salvo 12 unveil
 Comment(s)

The shotgun world has been waiting a long time for a high-quality suppressor.

Utah-based manufacturer SilencerCo announced its Salvo 12 shotgun suppressor on Monday and the tactical and hunting realms are already abuzz.

The Salvo 12 is modular in nature — the shooter can add or remove sections to balance their sound suppression, weight and length needs. At its full length of 12 inches, it brings sound down to 137 dB at the muzzle — well below the 140 dB hearing-safe level set by OSHA.

According to SoldierSystems.net:

The Salvo 12 comes as a 12-inch model but can be configured to a 10, 8 or even 6 inch version. This is because, due to ATF rules, a suppressor can be shortened but not lengthened. It is configured with the use of rods and connects to the shot gun via a Removable Choke System. The rods are readily commercially available and not designed specifically for the Salvo 12.
