Steiner has developed an entirely new and compact roof prism Tactical Binocular, incorporating the recently developed SUMR targeting reticle system. Using a new optical system formulation, with fully multi-coated optics and a new shock and nitrogen pressurized waterproof housing, the Steiner 10×42 R Tactical Binocular delivers a new standard for compact size and performance in a precision binocular that includes a new mil-radian targeting system.
The SUMR Reticle allows faster and more accurate communications between the spotter/observer and weapons delivery personnel because binocular and rifle reticles closely match. The binocular allows the user to effectively accomplish observation, coordinate direct and indirect fire, direct CAS (Close Air Support) missions and assist in the delivery of PGM munitions in military combat.
By building this Universal Reticle system into a lightweight 10X Roof Prism Binocular, Steiner is able to offer Law Enforcement personnel and War Fighters a smaller, more rugged and lightweight binocular in a power that matches the favored magnification ranges used in the various riflescopes used by many LE & Military tactical operators
New interference mirror engineering combines traditional silver mirror technology with selected dielectric coatings to the interference mirrors. This new technology delivers more light transmission, image contrast and pinpoint resolution than ever before. The 10×42 R also features a new, ergonomically designed housing, with a tripod mount, and a special rubberized, armor covering. Also included is a sharp checkered, diamond pattern, grip area that feels secure in the hand and helps protect the binocular from rugged conditions.
