Many of SureFire’s latest innovations are done at the behest of various special military groups. One of these innovations is the Echo. Designed on behalf of elite special warfare personnel, the Echo is a combat knife designed for use in battlefield conditions on land or sea.
The 4.5-inch blade, made from Crucible CPM 3V steel, is smooth and features serrations and a thick, break-resistant spear point. The blade is coated with a thin layer of rust-proofing; a top-flight chromium, tungsten and “CVD Diamond” (chemical vapor deposition of diamond) to resist corrosion and abrasion. The hardness is Rockwell 59-60.
