Lightweight Ammunition and Weapons Technologies
The LSAT program features parallel development of cased and caseless telescoped ammunition. Both use full-loop polymer links for light weight and high strength.

Cased Telescoped Ammo:
– Full polymer catridge
– Up to 40 percent weight reduction versus conventional ammo
– Significant volymne reduction

Caseless Telescoped Ammo:
– High-ignition temperature propellant
– Fully consumed upon firing- no case to eject
– Up to 50 percent weight reduction
– Up to 40 percent volume reduction

Lightweight Weapons Technologies
– Improved operator interfaces
– Increased supportability
– Enhanced thermal management technologies for caseless ammunition
– Lightweight materials and structural design reduce weapon weight and size
