In the upcoming March 2014 issue of Rifle Firepower, author John Haviland writes, “After the success of Mossberg’s FLEX system of interchangeable stocks and accessories for its shotguns, it was natural for Mossberg to expand the system to its bolt-action MVP rifles. Mossberg went all out, too, with the FLEX Tool-less Locking System (TLS), which permits switching between multiple buttstocks with various lengths of pull and interchangeable recoil pads of several thicknesses to fit a range of shooters and hunters.”
Haviland takes the new MVP FLEX rifle out hunting in the Colorado Rockies and truly tests its mettle. He writes, “The MVP FLEX rifle is available with either a 20-inch sporter or a 18.5-inch, medium-weight barrel. Barrels can also be threaded to accept an A2-style flash suppressor. Scoped Combo and Youth models with 12.75-inch lengths of pull are also available. All models utilize AR-style magazines that accept 5.56mm NATO/.223 Remington, 300 AAC Blackout or 7.62mm NATO (.308 Winchester) cartridges.”
