In the upcoming March 2014 issue of Rifle Firepower, author Dennis Adler test-fires two new rimfire offerings from Chiappa, the Little Badger and the Double Bader, both rimfire, break-action single-shots that should be a boon in the backwoods.
Adler writes, “The clever Little Badger from Chiappa makes toting a .22 or .22 Magnum single-shot survival rifle the easiest ever. It even comes in its own backpack! The choice of a single-shot over a semi-auto is one of convenience because the Little Badger folds in half, measures only 1.375 inches at its widest point and just 16.5 inches long when folded and weighs a mere 3.5 pounds. And even though it only chambers one round, it is available as a .22 Magnum, a far superior cartridge to a .22 LR when it comes to stopping power, velocity and accuracy.”
As for the Double Badger, an over/under, Adler writes, “The new Double Badger takes the M6 concept and combines a .22 LR (or .22 WMR) with a .410-gauge underbarrel to deliver a survival/field gun that can take small game whether on four paws or two wings.”
