Now here’s one for 1911 collectors you don’t quite see everyday. The SK Customs Premier Presidente pays tribute to Mexico’s first President, Guadalupe Victoria. SK Customs Premier Presidente Details
The Premier Presidente marks the second edition in the Mexican War of Independence Series. It follows an engraved model, dubbed The Emperor.
The Premier Presidente features custom scroll work on each side of the pistol. The left side displays a depiction of the Virgin of Guadalupe. It includes borders of floral patterns, framing an illustration of Victoria at the battle in Juego de Pelota. A banner declares him “Benemérito de la Patria,” meaning “Benefactor of the Homeland.”
The right side of the pistol features Victoria’s sword vaulted across a moat insurgent soldiers dared not to cross. A quote reads “Va mi espada en prenda, voy por ella,” translated as, “There goes my sword as pledge, I’m going for it!” Guadalupe Victoria reportedly swam across the moat, cutting the rope of a bridge and allowing troops into the city. The rear panel marks a symbolic coat depicted from the Constitution of 1824, which transformed Mexico into a federal republic.
The top of the slide presents a portrait of Victoria in uniform, naming him “Premier Presidente de Mexico, Guadalupe Victoria.” The are in front of the rear sight depicts the Coat of Arms of the Mexican Federal Republic by decree in 1823 Eagle. Below sits the cross from the Presidential Coat of Arms.
Guadalupe Victoria History
Guadalupe Victoria served as a general, deputy, senator and governor. Born Miguel Fernández y Félix in 1812, he became a George Washington-type of character for Mexico. “Guadalupe” stems from his dedication to the Virgin of Guadalupe. Meanwhile, “Victoria” marks his desire to succeed in victory in the fight for independence.
The tribute pistol exhibits a highly polished frame, slide, barrel and hardware. Silver plating adorns select areas. It comes with Pearlite grips featuring the silver emblem of the iconic Rampant Colt. The pistols also exhibit special engraved edition numbers.
