Tactical training schools, like the Sig Sauer Academy in New Hampshire, offer real-world scenarios that can also be applied to Zombie attacks

It has come to my attention that despite the increasingly alarming discussions of the looming zombie apocalypse, there seems to be a dearth of actual zombies mucking about. However, it would be a mistake to become complacent in regards to zombie preparedness as the undead have an annoying tendency to remain hidden, just below the surface so to speak, until the last minute.

While purchasing zombie-resistant guns, gear, and ammunition in large quantities remains a priority, don’t let the shortage of zombies keep you from also participating in necessary training activities and putting your gear to the test. Fortunately several zombie-themed shooting events have sprung up around the country.

A Zombie Apocalypse Survival School is being taught by veteran police sergeant Todd Rassa with the help of his children. Rassa is the co-founder of Tactical Defense Readiness Concepts (TDR) and High Calibre Training and Consulting and an expert on counterterrorism and force on force training. The Sig Sauer Academy, located in Epping, New Hampshire, is playing host to this class and offers plenty of its own tactical training as well. This facility, which encompasses a vast campus with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor ranges, is the perfect place to perfect your gun handling skills.

If you can’t find actual Zombies to use for target practice, 3D bleeding targets from ZMB Industries are a good substitute
