Seekins Precision event
The Seekins Precision open house and VIP shooting event.

Seekins Precision is a prime example of exactly what a bit of American ingenuity and hard work can produce. Glen Seekins started by building a set of scope rings to replace a set that broke on a hunt. He turned it into a thriving business, moving from borrowed shop time to his garage, then a 5,000-square-foot building. Seekins Precision now makes some of the finest rifles and accessories on the market. The company recently moved into a new 25,000-square-foot building, marking the next step in Seekins’ growth.

Seekins recently hosted an open house and VIP shoot at its new facility. The open house featured good food, a tour of the factory and some raffles for upper receivers and even a complete rifle by the end of the day. The new facility is perfect for streamlining Seekins’ manufacturing process, and it features some of the finest CNC machines today.

The following day featured a VIP shoot at the personal range of a Seekins customer. The range is about an hour outside of Lewiston, Idaho, in the mountains. The weather was clear, it was cool, and everyone had a ton of fun. Most attendees were longtime Seekins customers, dealers and family friends, with a couple of us from the media. A tent was set up to accommodate meals as well as all of the latest products from Seekins Precision. Gemtech was kind enough to help out, and the company provided subsonic ammunition as well as suppressors for Seekins’ SPROV3 rifles. Primary Weapons Systems also provided one of its T3 rimfire rifles to highlight the Gemtech subsonic ammunition’s capabilities.

To wring out the latest Seekins rifles, there was a long-distance stage requiring shots out to 400 yards as well a couple of action stages. The company’s newest 7.62mm rifle was on display—it’s not quite ready for public use, but it will be in the near future. Afterward, a helicopter delivered me and a few dignitaries back to the Seekins facility.
